Cookie Policy
Last updated: April 6, 2026
We use cookies and similar browser technologies to keep you signed in and, with your permission, to understand how the platform is being used so we can improve it. This policy describes every cookie and storage key we set and why.
What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a web server or by client-side scripts. They are sent back to the originating server with subsequent requests, allowing websites to remember information between page loads. We also use localStorage — a client-side storage area that is never sent to our servers — for one functional purpose described below.
Cookies and Storage Keys We Use
The table below lists every cookie and localStorage key set by Avec Vitesse.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration | Consent |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| session | HTTP cookie (httpOnly, Secure) | Maintains your signed-in session. Required for the app to function — without it you will be signed out on every page load. | 24 hours | No — essential |
| ph_[token]_posthog and related ph_* keys | HTTP cookie + localStorage (set by PostHog) | Records feature-usage events to help us understand how the platform is used and where to improve it. No data is collected unless you accept analytics cookies. | Session cookie + persistent localStorage (PostHog defaults) | Yes — analytics opt-in |
| cookie_consent | localStorage key | Stores your cookie consent choice (“accepted” or “rejected”) so the consent banner does not reappear on subsequent visits. | Persistent until manually cleared | No — functional |
Analytics Cookies (PostHog)
We use PostHog for product analytics. PostHog is initialised only after you click “Accept Cookies” on the consent banner. If you click “Essential Only”, PostHog's opt-out method is called immediately and no analytics cookies, localStorage entries, or usage events are written to your browser for the duration of your visit. You can change your preference at any time by clearing your browser's localStorage for avecvitesse.ca and reloading the page — the consent banner will reappear.
How to Control Cookies
You can block or delete cookies at any time through your browser's privacy or storage settings. Please note that blocking the session cookie will sign you out of the platform. Clearing localStorage will remove your stored consent preference and the cookie banner will be shown again on your next visit. Removing cookies or localStorage data does not delete your account or any data stored on our servers.
Changes to This Policy
We will update this policy if we add or remove cookies or change how we use them. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect any revision. Continued use of the Service after a revision constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
